GAME DAY: Superbowl round up - 'Cobb Salad' Dip

I read the recipe for this on Chowhound and it sounded too delicious to pass up. Avocado, blue cheese, onion, creamy goodness? What's not to love? My spidey senses were spot-on as this is ENCROYABLE. Let it be known: salads --> dips = a good idea. Much like Mac and Cheese it appears that dips are simply a vehicle for deliciousness. This is certainly not the healthiest of dips, however, cobb salad is not particularly healthy either. You can call it a salad but it's still blue cheese and bacon. ONWARDS!


1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup of diced blue cheese (the tangier the better!) * dice it small
2 tsp lemon juice
1 avocado, finely chopped
1/4 cup sliced scallions (green onions)
1 tbsp parsley (mine was dried and it was fine - I can never really use a whole bunch of fresh parsley)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp kosher salt
a couple grates of black pepper
  1. Get a bowl (not metal).
  2. Combine: blue cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, Worcestershire, and salt. Stir until it's nice and mixed. If you are serving your dip ASAP go right ahead to step 3, if not, wait, stick it in the fridge, and complete step 3 right before serving.
  3. Stir in your scallions, avocado, and parsley. EAT.

Note: the original post suggested topping this with well browned, crumbled bacon. I ran out of bacon (the horror!) so was unable to do this - but really, how could bacon make this worse? The next time I make this baby I'm going to add a little bit of corn. I think the sweetness would really play well with the other flavours.
